Back for the run chase. The men concerned are back on the field. Chandrapaul Hemraj and Kieran Powell are the openers for Windies. Mohammed Shami to kick off proceedings with the first new ball. India attacking with a slip. Here we go...
Now, the chase is tall and won't be an easy one by any means. A target of 322 seems daunting enough, and with the track about to slow up even more, the fight against the Indian spinners will test the character and the skill of the Windies batsmen. Join us on the other side of the break for all the action.
Ambati Rayudu is caught on the sidelines for a little chat. He says that it was an important situation to build a stand and he is happy it worked out well. Smiles and states that he always tries to make the most of the opportunities he gets. Mentions that all throughout his career he has batted in the middle order and he is quite used to it. Admits that the Indian T20 League is a great platform and thanks Dhoni and Chennai. On batting with Kohli, Rayudu says that it's really unbelievable and the Indian skipper has taken his game to whole new level.
Not much to mention about the Windies bowling. Barring Nurse (who was their best) and Bishoo (who was economical), the rest got a hammering as they were sent to all parts of the ground by the Indian captain. Kohli's dropped chance on 44 by Jason Holder has surely haunted them. The Windies skipper didn't even bowl his full quota of overs for some reason.
Kohli joined hands with Rayudu and set it all up with a 139-run partnership. The latter departed after scoring a fine 73, but the captain carried on, despite him feeling the heat (literally). Made some useful stands with the rest coming in, the one with Jadeja worth 59 was the pick of them, and the skipper remained unbeaten till the end, powering the Men in Blue to 321.
India have posted a superb total on the board courtesy another masterclass from Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper doesn't seem to get tired of scoring big runs. Back-to-back hundreds, also broke several records on the way. Incredible effort, especially considering that Rohit and Dhawan were dismissed quite early.
K Roach to M Shami, Spears a yorker outside off, Shami can't get bat to ball. 13 runs off the over and that signals the end of the innings. INDIA FINISH ON 321/6!
K Roach to V Kohli, Full again, wide outside off once more. Kohli lifts it over covers for just the single on this occasion.
K Roach to V Kohli, SIX! Oh, you beauty! How do you do this? Makes it all look so easy. Just ahead of a length outside off, Kohli reaches out to it and lofts it over wide long on. The fielder there is right at the rope, he leaps but it's over his head.
K Roach to V Kohli, Virat Kohli is just amazing. His 4th 150-plus score in ODIs. He carves this full delivery outside off square through cover-point. Runs hard, comes back for the second and gets in with a dive. Superb.
K Roach to V Kohli, FOUR! Innovative stuff from Virat Kohli. You don't see much of this from him. Wide outside off, Kohli goes a long way across and paddles it wide of backward square leg. The fielder gives it a chase, dives but can't stop it. Boundary results.
K Roach to V Kohli, Arrows this really full, outside off, drilled straight to the cover fielder.
O McCoy to V Kohli, Pushes this full delivery towards point and keeps strike with a single.
Mohammed Shami to bat next for India.
O McCoy to R Jadeja, OUT! Jadeja departs in the quest for the big hits. Full and in the slots, Jadeja looks to go big downtown but can't get underneath it. Skies it towards long on where Kieran Powell takes a safe catch. End of the all-rounder's relatively short stay in the middle. Useful stand comes to a close.
O McCoy to V Kohli, Short of a good length angling across, pulled aerially over mid-wicket for a run.
O McCoy to R Jadeja, Yorker tailing back in on leg, Jadeja misses his flick and it goes off his pads on the off side. A leg bye is taken.
O McCoy to V Kohli, Darts this full delivery outside off, VK smacks it aerially to long off. Just the single this time.
O McCoy to R Jadeja, Low full toss on off, slogged off the inner half by Jadeja and he finds deep mid-wicket. One run taken. Brings Kohli back on strike.
K Roach to V Kohli, FOUR! Roach has been taken to the cleaners by Kohli. The 300 is up for India. Full in length and well outside off, Kohli eyes that cover area and lofts it over the fielder there, just outside the ring. A boundary to end the over. 36 runs from the last two overs.
