Cyber Fraud Crackdown: Gujarat Police Expose 105 Mule Accounts Under Operation Mule Hunt 2.0

The Cyber Crime Police Station of East Kutch District, Gujarat, has busted a major cyber fraud network under the state's Operation Mule Hunt 2.0 initiative. Acting on human intelligence and specific inputs, police arrested four accused and uncovered details of nearly 105 mule accounts allegedly used to facilitate cyber fraud.According to East Kutch SP Sagar Bagmar, preliminary investigation revealed transactions worth around Rs 44 crore routed through multiple accounts linked to the network. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.Police said victims from several states across India were targeted, while initial findings also point to international links, including activities traced to Sri Lanka. Four suspects have been arrested so far, while four others remain absconding. The Cyber Crime Branch is continuing its investigation to identify the full extent of the network and trace additional accused.
