South Africa vs Sri Lanka Live Score, U19 World Cup 2026: South Africa opt to bat against Sri Lanka

The captain of Sri Lanka Under-19 - Vimath Dinsara says that they would have bowled first anyway. Adds that the pitch looks different from the one they played against Namibia earlier in the tournament. Adds that they have a slim chance of qualifying, but they are not taking any extra pressure. Says that they won the last game against the Afghans and will look to do more of the same here. Informs that they have made one change as Kugathas Mathulan misses out and Vigneshwaran Akash comes in the team.

The skipper of South Africa Under-19 - Muhammad Bulbulia says that they will look to put runs on the board and hopefully defend it, as he expects the pitch to slow down and favour the spinners later on. Adds that they have had a lot of positives, especially individual gains, but unfortunately, they could not perform collectively.
