Man hit by speeding truck in Chatra, dies

Chatra: A 29-year-old man was killed after a speeding truck hit his motorcycle in Hunterganj police station limits of the district late on Friday. The accident took place near Bhondal Naginadaha bridge on the Chatra-Dobhi Main Road. The deceased was identified as Roshan Gupta, a resident of Hunterganj market.Roshan was returning home after refuelling his bike. When he reached near the Bhondal Naginadaha Bridge, a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit him, killing him on the spot. The incident took place around 11 pm.The truck driver fled the spot after the incident. Police arrived at scene after being informed by locals. Prabhat Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Huntergunj police station, said, “Efforts are on to trace the absconding truck driver and identify the vehicle.”
