CM’s whataboutery, BJP corruption have left people frustrated: Akhilesh

Lucknow: Chief minister’s whataboutery coupled with rampant BJP corruption has left the people of the state reeling under acute crises of basic needs, said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday. He said housewives were grappling with kitchen budgets because of rising prices of essential commodities and residents, the common man was struggling with prolonged power cuts, youth were fighting rising unemployment and farmers battling it out with fertilizer shortage.“Mukhya mantriji bayanveer ban gaye hain... (Respected chief minister indulges in whataboutery),” Akhilesh said, adding that people’s woes are not being heard anywhere, be it tehsils or the district collectorates. The SP chief elaborated that every section of the society was facing the impact of govt failures. “Skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, rising unemployment coupled with paper leaks of competitive and recruitment exams, rampant anomalies on result being announced and farmers not being able to get the right price for their crop and left to grapple with shortage of fertilizers and seeds – everyone is struggling to survive with no one to address their woes,” Akhilesh said.He said the latest in the series of govt failures was prolonged power cuts that have troubled the common man most because of the rising summer temperatures. “This is because BJP has not set-up a single power producing unit in the past nine years in UP. They have not added a single unit of power to the power producing capacity of the SP govt,” Akhilesh said.Accusing BJP govt of having destroyed the sanctity of democracy, Akhilesh said it seems that keys of chief minister’s bulldozers have landed with the criminals who are striking at will across the state.
“In Pratapgarh, musclemen forcibly demolishing a house and a shop right adjacent to a police outpost was shameful. Police stood a mute witness when the SP delegation heading to meet the victim Vishwakarma family of Unnao was attacked explains that BJP govt does not spare those who raise their voice for justice,” Akhilesh said.BOX‘HC has called out CM’s blue-eyed bureaucrat’Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav said Allahabad high court has called out CM’s one of the blue-eyed bureaucrats and has underlined his professional incompetence which was a reflection of the state of affairs in the state.“I am told that not only professional conduct of the bureaucrat has been penalised by the high court but also suspicion has been raised over his competence in handling important issues and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) as well. He said actually such issues arise when civil servants try to act as govt. The resultant arrogance ends up disrespecting the judicial process and authority.“When teachers are being asked to reappear in examinations to prove their competence, why should the same rule should not be applied to administrative officials,” he asked.
