Lucknow: First-semester students of LLB III-year and V-year integrated law courses staged a four-hour protest outside the administrative building at Lucknow University, causing inconvenience to other students.The varsity announced that it decided to promote all first-semester law students to the second semester, but protesting students said no notification of the order was issued yet.Vishaka Singh, a third-year student, said that she only had minor correction work in her marksheet but had to wait for hours outside as there was no clarity from anyone.Ritika Jaiswal, a second-year student, said she had travelled from a far area for a simple update on her fee receipt but found everything shut.LU spokesperson, Mukul Srivastava said, “The protest was unnecessary as the updated rule already provides direct promotion from first semester to second semester.”
