BREAKING: Iran 'SHOOTS DOWN' U.S. Drone Near Bushehr Port City; Missiles Hit 'SPECIFIED TARGETS'
Iranian air defense forces downed a “hostile aircraft” near the strategic port city of Bushehr, according to Mehr News, amid escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz region. Iran’s armed forces also launched missiles from the country’s southern region toward unspecified targets, semi-official Fars news agency reported, adding that the destination of the missiles remained unclear. The Aircraft intercepted and destroyed by Iranian Defenses was a MQ-9 drone, according to Tasnim News. Meanwhile, a U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, denied reports that any American aircraft had been shot down near Bushehr. Iran’s state TV had earlier claimed that a U.S. aircraft was destroyed in Iran’s Jam governorate in Bushehr province, citing governor Masoud Tangestani.
