Gaya: Myanmar President Gen Min Aung Hlaing is scheduled to visit
Bodh Gaya on Saturday. According to a press release issued by the ministry of external affairs, Gen Min will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising cabinet ministers, senior officials and business leaders.
During the visit, he is expected to offer prayers at the Unesco World Heritage-listed Mahabodhi Mahavihara. He may also visit the Burmese Vihara Buddhist monastery in Bodh Gaya. In view of the high-profile visit, administrative preparations have been stepped up.
The Gaya district administration has issued a traffic advisory for Saturday, which will remain in force from 8 am to 4 pm. Movement of all types of vehicles from Gate No. 5 of the Officers Training Academy to Domuhan via Tekuna Farm will remain restricted during this period.
Vehicular movement will also be restricted on the route from Domuhan towards Welcome Hotel and Node I.
District magistrate Shashank Shubhankar held a meeting with Gaya airport director Awadhesh Kumar,
CISF officials and other authorities to review security arrangements and other logistical preparations ahead of the visit.
