Samrat orders tight security for NEET-UG re-exam on June 21

Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Friday asked all district magistrates and superintendents of police to ensure foolproof security at centres for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21.Reviewing preparations at the Sankalp Auditorium in Lok Sevak Awas, Samrat stressed that the security of question papers, continuous monitoring of examination centres and strict vigilance against anti-social elements must be ensured under all circumstances. He instructed officials to act immediately on any information related to irregularities or malpractice and take stringent action without delay.Additional chief secretary of the general administration department B Rajender briefed the meeting on arrangements being made for the examination. He said the re-examination would be conducted at 331 centres across 35 districts and that inter-departmental coordination was underway to ensure its smooth conduct.During the review, Samrat warned that no negligence would be tolerated at any examination centre. He directed officials to ensure strict adherence to all prescribed protocols and standards and complete preparations within the stipulated timeframe.He said the state govt’s foremost priority was to provide candidates with a safe, convenient and well-organised examination environment.To support students appearing for the re-examination, Samrat announced free travel on all Bihar state-run buses and directed authorities to ensure effective implementation of the facility.He also instructed officials to provide essential amenities at all centres, including safe drinking water, functional toilets, uninterrupted electricity supply and medical assistance.Emphasising the need for smooth movement on examination day, the chief minister directed officials to strengthen traffic management and improve the information system so that candidates and their guardians face minimal inconvenience.He said every effort should be made to ensure the safety, comfort and convenience of students throughout the examination process.
