Truck skids, hits bike; One injured

Palakkad: A bike rider sustained injuries after a truck skidded and collided with his bike at Edakkad in Kongad amid heavy rain around 6am on Friday.The accident occurred when the truck, travelling from Cherpulassery to Palakkad, reportedly went out of control on a curve. According to witnesses, the driver applied the brakes while negotiating the bend, causing the vehicle to skid on the wet surface.The truck’s rear portion struck an oncoming motorcycle, injuring the rider. The injured biker was rushed to a private hospital in Palakkad, where he was given primary treatment. His health condition is reported to be stable.
