1 dead, 3 injured in blast at chemical factory in Ahmedabad
AHMEDABAD: At least one worker died and three others were injured after an explosion ripped through a chemical manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad's Naroda GIDC area on Friday afternoon.The incident took place at the MNS Intermediates factory when a tank containing a chemical solvent exploded inside the premises. The injured workers were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.
"Four persons were injured in the blast and shifted to a hospital, where one of them died during treatment," a senior police official said.The explosion was followed by a fire involving a hydrogen-filled truck parked within the factory compound, according to fire department officials.Five fire tenders were deployed to the site and successfully contained the blaze. Authorities said the cause of the explosion has not yet been established and is under investigation.
