Babet, Norma, and Tammy unleash hurricanes and storm across the US and Europe

Hurricane Norma made landfall near the resorts of Los Cabos at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula on Saturday. The hurricane center said Norma, once a Category 4 hurricane, made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 80 mph near el Pozo de Cota, west-northwest of Cabo San Lucas. After Norma, Tammy came ashore Saturday night with 85 mph (140 kph) winds. The hurricane was moving north-northwest at 10 mph (17 kph) and by late Saturday was centered 15 miles (25 kilometers) north-northwest of Barbuda, according to the US National Hurricane Center. (AP Photo)

Hurricane warnings remained in effect for the islands of Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Martin, and St Barthelemy. The warning was lifted for Antigua. The hurricane center said that heavy rainfall and flooding (are) likely over much of the Lesser Antilles. (AFP photo)

At least three people died in the storm, including a man in his 60s who was caught in fast-flowing flood water in the town of Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire on Friday. A 56-year-old man also died after his van hit a tree near Forfar, and a 67-year-old woman was killed after being swept into the Water of Lee. (AP photo)
