Nepal is easily the top pick if you're hunting for a dirt-cheap international trip. Because of the open border, getting there is ridiculously simple. You can usually grab a direct flight to Kathmandu starting around ₹8,000. If you really want to save cash, taking a bus or driving across the border from North India makes it practically a domestic trip in terms of cost.
Sure, July means monsoon season, but you can dodge the heavy rains by heading to rain-shadow areas like Upper Mustang. The skies are clearer there, and the mountains look spectacular. Otherwise, stick to Kathmandu's ancient temples, wander around Bhaktapur, or chill by the lake in Pokhara. It's also a great time for cultural tours without battling hordes of tourists.

The southwest gets pretty wet in July, so you'll want to head straight for the east coast. Spots like Trincomalee and Arugam Bay are perfect right now, sunny skies, great beaches, and solid opportunities for surfing and whale watching. If you want a break from the sand, check out the ancient ruins in Sigiriya and Anuradhapura, or ride that famous, ridiculously scenic train through the hills of Ella and Kandy.

It rains in parts of Thailand in July, so skip the Andaman side and stick to the Gulf Coast. Islands like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao generally enjoy much better weather this time of year.
