Meet the shrewd and power hungry politicians of Dharavi Bank

Dharavi Bank, streaming live on MX Player has been garnering rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. The political-crime thriller, starring Suniel Shetty, Sonali Kulkarni and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles has been directed by Samit Kakkad. Based on the murky world of crime and politics, the series showcases some powerful actors essaying the roles of politicians. Here's looking at them...

Sonali Kulkarni stars as the strong headed and clever Chief Minister Janvi Surve. In an earlier interview to ETimes, Sonali said that unlike Janvi, she is not a manipulative and harsh woman. 'I don't have a scheming mind, I am too transparent and I don't carry any baggage, even to the next day,' she says, adding that with Janvi it was not about looking good, wearing designer sarees or smirking on screen, but rather it was about understanding the character and the way she 'constantly opened files' in her mind. Adding that Janvi is not a simple character who is 'cajoling her grief', Sonali admitted to fumbling a lot while portraying her on screen, but her director Samit Kakkad was there to help at each point.

Nagesh Bhonsle stars as the power hungry Ghanshyam Mahtre, an arch rival of Janvi Surve and the deputy Chief Minister. Shrewd and cunning, Ghanshyam has his eyes set on Janvi's seat, as deep down he believes that a woman is only fit to run the household and not a state. With Dharavi Bank filling up his pockets, he would go to any lengths to save himself and raze his enemy to the ground.

Santosh Juvekar plays Ghanshyam Mahtre's son Avinash Mahtre. A young, bright MLA, who always stands by his father's side, Avinash is quick witted and clever however, his weakness for women always lands him in trouble.

The series also stars Luke Kenny, Freddy Daruwala, Shanthipriya, Siddharth Menon, Hitesh Bhojraj, Samiksha Bhatnagar, Rohit Pathak, Jaywant Wadkar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Bhavana Rao and others. While Vivek Oberoi plays an honest cop in the series, Suniel Shetty stars as the rakish antagonist Thalaivan in the same.
