This year, many fan-favourite reality series were axed. From ‘Queer Eye’ airing its last season to ‘Rehab Addict’ being cancelled after a controversy arose about the host, many series will not return for another season. Here is a look at some of the favourite series that were cancelled this year.

'Queer Eye'

Leading with one of the most popular shows, ‘Queer Eye’ ran its last season in January this year. Netflix confirmed last July that after a 10-season run the famed ‘Fab 5’ would have their last season before officially saying goodbye. The show focused on how the ‘Fab 5’ spent a week transforming a person’s lifestyle.

'Yes, Chef!'

Popular cooking show ‘Yes, Chef!’ also ended up getting axed this year. Deadline reported that the series, hosted by Stewart and José Andrés was cancelled after running for only 1 season in March this year. Twelve talented cooks competed against one another for a cash prize of USD 250 thousand.

‘On Brand with Jimmy Fallon’

Yes, the star from ‘The Tonight Show’ had another series. Pairing up with ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Bozoma ‘Boz’ Saint John, Fallon started a marketing agency filled with creative people. The first season premiered last September. A recent Deadline report confirmed that the series will not receive a renewal.

‘Rehab Addict’

‘Rehab Addict’ was cancelled this year due to a major controversy. A viral video showed the host, Nicole Curtis, using a racial slur while filming on set. The network hosting the show also removed it from all platforms, while Curtis issued a formal apology. As reported by TMZ, she stated, “I want to be clear: the word in question is wrong and not part of my vocabulary and never has been, and I apologize to everyone.”

‘Selling the City’

‘Selling the City’ only ran for 1 season before it was cancelled. While the first season aired in January this year, the show was cancelled by April, as reported by TMZ. The show revolved around a group of New York real estate agents trying to close multimillion-dollar real estate deals.

‘Love & Hop Hop’

Paramount reported that ‘Love & Hop Hop’ is officially ending. The franchise was on air for about 15 years; however, it is finally concluding with a six-part series titled ‘Love & Hip Hop: The Final Chapter,’ which will air later this year.

‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’

'The ‘Jersey Shore’ franchise first began in 2009, and has had various versions released over the years. The series has now officially been cancelled. The final season, titled ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation,’ aired earlier this month. The last season has 18 episodes and has been labeled the “last hurrah.”

‘Pop the Balloon’

Originally adapted from the popular YouTube series of the same name, ‘Pop the Balloon’ was cancelled this year. The experimental dating show aired last year; however, in February, it was announced that it would not return for a second season.
