The eco-inclined Spice Village is one of the most celebrated restored properties of CGH Earth in the heart of Thekkady. Many conservation initiatives like solar panels, recycled water, swimming pool with non-chemically treated water, recycled water and locally sourced vegetables are found here. The rooms are modelled as per dwellings of the local tribes. Though rooms and facilities are impeccable, the highlight of the property is the knowledgeable naturalist team at the resort. At leisure, you can lounge by the pool or pick a spot at the museum-like bar, which has an antique billiards table and many well documented photographs of the region. The pub is reminiscent of A.W Wood’s own home, on which the property has been built. He was the first ranger of the Periyar National Park. With group’s commitment to earth, Spice Village is the perfect place to get immersed in conversations around environment sensitivity, benefiting the local community and adopting an ethos that serves the local ambience well. If nothing else, the resort urges you to become a more eco-sensitive traveller. Spice Village is a serene celebration of the land and its people.
