1.1 : India:0/1
1.1: J Dala to R Sharma, OUT! Rohit Sharma walks back for a golden duck! Dala is up and running here. He has struck on the very first ball. What a start! He was the one who removed Rohit in the first game and does so again. Bowls a length delivery on middle and it moves off the surface and stays a bit low too. Rohit is a little late in getting his bat down and gets struck on the pads. A loud appeal and the umpire raises his finger. They talk about the review but Rohit doesn't opt for one and continues his way back to the pavilion. Good call, as he was a dead duck, showed the replays.
0.1 : India:0/0
0.1: C Morris to S Dhawan, INSIDE EDGE! The celebrations have been cut short for the hosts! But what a delivery from Chris! He starts off from over the wicket and drops it on a length around middle. It jags back in to ping Dhawan on the pads right in front of the stumps. Morris appeals and the umpire raises his finger. Dhawan quickly takes the DRS. The front foot is fine but Ultra Edge shows a big fat spike as the ball passes the bat. That is enough to change the on-field call.
It's done and dusted. After the completion of the national anthems we are all set to get underway. It's a bit gloomy out there and the pacers will be licking their lips to have a crack at the batsmen. The players and umpires take their positions. Out walk the two openers - Rohit Sharam and Shikhar Dhawan. Local lad, Chris Morris will start off with the bowling proceedings. He has a couple of slips in place..
PITCH REPORT - Shaun Pollock says the wicket looks worse for wear. Adds that with the conditions being a bit overcast, the ball will move around. Spots the pitch has lost its sheen which it used to have. Further says it's a nice and hard wicket with a little bit of grass being trimmed away. Opines there are a few cracks but they aren't that threatening. States the pacers will get some purchase but it's still a good batting wicket.
India skipper, Virat Kohli says the toss isn't in anyone's control. Feels the wicket to remain the same throughout the course of the game. Adds they have played good cricket so far and once again have got the job on their hands today. Informs Bumrah has got some abdomen stiffness and Shardul Thakur is replacing him. Wants to capitalize on the momentum and seal the series today.
India and their dominance over the Proteas in the limited-overs have been the talk for quite a while now. The Men in Blue have been ruthless and today they would be looking to seal the series. South Africa have got their task cut out and will have to play out of their skins to draw level. Will they be able to topple the visitors today or will it be yet another one-sided affair? Shaun Pollock is alongside the two skippers for the toss...
The news from the Centurion wasn't the greatest a while back as it was pouring due to which the game the women's game was abandoned. But the dark angry clouds have blown away and we are likely to get a full-fledged game. Let's hope that it doesn't intervene. Hello and welcome to our coverage of the second T20I between South Africa and India.
It's not a very comfortable feeling for any team knowing that while they happen to be just about finishing dealing with a batsman who ended up scoring 1345 Test runs between 2017 and now, and a mind-boggling 558 runs in six One-day Internationals at an average of 186, they’re about to run into another one who is no less intimidating. Miles away from where South Africa practised on Tuesday afternoon to gear up for yet another T20 encounter with Virat Kohli & Co., Steven Smith has been busy planning his next move. At 1388 runs in 21 matches, averaging over 75, he’ll be South Africa’s next big challenge when the four-Test series begins here on March 1.
