Australia vs South Africa Highlights, U19 World Cup 2026

Australia vs South Africa Live Score, U19 World Cup 2026: Australia U19 have won the toss and have opted to field against South Africa U19.

Teams:

South Africa U19 (Playing XI):

Armaan Manack, Jorich Van Schalkwyk, Muhammed Bulbulia(c), Jason Rowles, Daniel Bosman, Paul James, Lethabo Phahlamohlaka(w), JJ Basson, Ntando Soni, Enathi Kitshini, Buyanda Majola

Australia U19 (Playing XI):

Will Malajczuk, Nitesh Samuel, Steven Hogan, Oliver Peake(c), Alex Lee Young(w), Jayden Draper, Aryan Sharma, Hayden Schiller, Kasey Barton, Will Byrom, Charles Lachmund

Muhammed Bulbulia: Yeah, we thought we played pretty decent cricket. I think we just lost a few big moments at crucial times in games and just manage situations a little bit better going into today. Like I said, we've played decent cricket. So I think the boys are not too worried about those things. I think they're going to take care of themselves if we just stick to the processes and keep working on the stuff we've been doing. They are a strong side, so we've obviously had a bit of a look at them where we needed to, but it's just about focusing on ourselves mainly and making sure we're doing the right things. Two changes for today. We have two debutants coming in, Sonny and Inati Kishini.

Oliver Peake: We're gonna bowl. Yeah, we're going in with the same team. Purely great display the other day, so hopefully we can replicate that today. We had an optional training yesterday. Probably half the boys went and the other half just rested up. So, yeah, feeling fresh for today. Yeah, absolutely. They're a very strong team. I think they play pretty similarly to us. So, yeah, may the best team win.

Pitch Report: It is 34 degrees, and it's just left around 30-35% humidity. I think it's much the same, where there's been a really good grass covering. It's good for pace bowling. Let's have a quick look. There's plenty of grass, a lovely covering throughout this square, but this one area and a couple of areas have a slightly thicker area of grass, so it might just be a little bit slower, might hold up a touch. Maybe a little bit too paced, but I think the pace should be pretty good for backing as well. There's good offer for runs and scoring, and the spinners, I don't think there's going to be a huge amount of assistance today. I think yet again with these two sides, the seam bowlers, they'll be the ones to watch.

Charles Lachmund to Armaan Manack, OUT! LBW! Armaan Manack walks back on a golden duck. Phew, it did not take Charles Lachmund long to impact this game. An inswinging fuller delivery this time from Charles, around middle and off. Armaan Manack falls over as he looks to take a stride out in front and gets beaten on the inside with the ball striking him flush in front of the stumps on the front pad. Just a gentle appeal was enough from the fielding side for the umpire to raise his finger.

Jorich van Schalkwyk and Armaan Manack have stided out in the middle for South Africa Under-19 to open the innings. Charles Lachmund will be bowling the first over of the contest for the Aussies.

PITCH REPORT - There is a healthy covering of grass across the surface, which is likely to provide significant assistance to the pace bowlers, though some patches feature a particularly thick layer that may result in the pitch playing somewhat two-paced. Despite these challenges for the batters, there are good runs on offer for those who can settle in, although the primary advantage is expected to lie with the pacers, who should find substantial help from the conditions.

South Africa Under-19 captain Muhammad Bulbulia reflected on his team's recent performances, stating they played decent cricket but lost crucial moments in games. Acknowledging Australia as a strong side, he stressed the importance of his team focusing mainly on themselves and doing the right things. Bulbulia confirmed two changes to the South African team for today's match, with Ntandoyenkosi Soni and Enathi Khitshini coming in to make their debuts.
