Marlon Wayans REVEALS Melissa Joan Hart was supposed to feature in 'Scary Movie'

Actor and comedian Marlon Wayans says not Anna Faris but Melissa Joan Hart was considered to essay the role of Cindy in the horror feature film series "Scary Movie".

During the promotions of the latest instalment of the film series, "Scary Movie 6", Faris asked Wayans and Shawn Wayans if there was "ever a celebrity that desperately wanted to be in a 'Scary Movie', but you had to hit them with a hard no?"


Wayans recalled his elder brother and the director of the first "Scary Movie" film, which released in 2000, was impressed by Faris' auditions and pushed for her to get the role in the film franchise.

"Keenan was like, 'I saw this young lady Anna Faris, and it really feels like that's our Cindy," Wayans said in interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"So you took Melissa Joan Hart's job! Good job, Anna. Way to go. Taking food out of another white lady's mouth... White on white crime," he added.

After the release of "Scary Movie", the franchise had another installments, which released in 2001, 2003, 2006, and 2013.

The latest film released on Friday an has already earned over USD 51 million at the global box office.

The films follow a core group of clueless but well-meaning friends as they find themselves navigating absurd, supernatural, and slasher threats.

The film series also features Wayans, Regina Hall and Shawn Wayans, among others.
