Visakhapatnam: A review meeting was held at the GVMC office in Visakhapatnam with a three-member team led by
World Bank representative Abhijit Ray. The team will study
Vizag city profile, development potential, and urban infrastructure requirements for the development of the city's economic region as part of the Visakhapatnam Economic Region, said GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg.
During the review meeting, the commissioner gave a detailed presentation on various developmental initiatives being undertaken by GVMC, projects taken up under the urban challenge fund, and other proposed infrastructure projects. He explained the growth trajectory, development priorities, and the scope for future investments of Vizag to the World Bank representatives.
The commissioner further informed that the team had visited the city to assess the existing urban framework and identify priority projects required for future growth and development. The World Bank team would continue its field visits and study of various locations across the city on Friday. GVMC additional commissioner S.S. Varma, chief engineer P.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju, superintending engineer Yedukondalu, Advisor K.V.N. Ravi, Smart City Manager Anand, and other officials participated in the review meeting.
