Mandya: Former KR Pet MLA KB Chandrashekhar narrowly escaped a major mishap Saturday after the car he was travelling in suffered a front tyre burst on the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway 275 between Ramanagara and Channapatna.
Sources said he was returning to KR Pet from Bengaluru when the incident occurred near Bidadi on a busy stretch of the highway. The vehicle, driven by his driver, reportedly lost control after the front right tyre burst, leading to the accident and causing temporary disruption to traffic, police said.
Chandrashekhar and his driver sustained minor injuries. Passers-by and local authorities rushed to their aid, and he was shifted to a private hospital in Bengaluru, where he is undergoing treatment. Medical sources said he is out of danger.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and initiated an inquiry. Traffic was briefly affected as officials cleared the damaged vehicle and restored normal flow. Preliminary reports indicate that a tyre burst may have caused the accident, though a detailed investigation is under way to ascertain the exact circumstances.
