Constable, Citizens Save Woman After Sea Jump at Marine Drive

Mumbai: Swift action by a police constable and some citizens helped rescue a 46-year-old woman who had jumped into the sea at Marine Drive on Sunday. Police said that when the woman jumped into the sea, police constable Jayesh Mali did not hesitate to rescue her. With the help of passersby, he acted quickly and brought her safely to shore. Assistant sub inspector Someshwar Chougule and sub inspector Gagre quickly coordinated medical assistance, and the woman was shifted to GT Hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently stable. Police said the woman did not give any reason as to why she jumped. She gave the number of her son who was called at the hospital. He told police that she had not been eating properly for one week. The officer added that she seemed to be mentally disturbed, but the reason was not known.
