MEERUT: IIMT University has announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate artificial intelligence and cloud computing into its academic ecosystem, claiming to become the region’s first ‘AI-First’ and ‘AI-Ready’ university.
University officials said the initiative aims to shift higher education from conventional learning models to industry-oriented skill development. As part of the programme, AI will be introduced as a compulsory component across all streams, including arts, commerce, science, management and technology, with students getting access to advanced AI tools and cloud-based learning platforms.
Under the collaboration, the university will align its curriculum with Google Cloud technologies, enabling students to gain practical exposure through Cloud Skills Boost labs, Google Cloud infrastructure training, skill badges and certification pathways.
IIMT has also launched four specialised programmes — B.Tech CSE Cloud Innovation with Google Cloud, B.Tech CSE with Google Cloud Specialisation, BCA with Google Cloud Specialisation and B.Sc Computer Science Cloud Innovation with Google Cloud.
The university said the programmes have been designed keeping in mind the rising demand for AI and cloud professionals in India. “The future belongs to those who know how to build with AI. This initiative will prepare students to become innovators who contribute to India’s
digital economy,” the university management said.
Admissions for the 2026 academic session under the new programmes have been opened, officials added.
