33-year-old beaten to death in Belthangady
Mangaluru: A 33-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death in Belthangady, with CCTV footage reportedly showing three men assaulting the victim. Police have registered a case.
The deceased has been identified as Yathish.
Based on a complaint filed by Nithin, 34, a resident of Perne in Bantwal taluk, Belthangady Police registered a case in connection with the death of his younger brother.
According to the complaint, Nithin received a WhatsApp message on Monday morning containing photographs and information about an unidentified body found at Aladikottige in Guruvayanakere, Belthangady. He identified the deceased as his brother Yathish after examining the photographs.
Nithin then reached the spot and reviewed CCTV footage from the area. He alleged that the footage showed three individuals — Yashodhara, 35, of Mithabagilu in Belthangady; Mohan, 30, of Charvaka in Kadaba; and Ibrahim, 54, of Padangady in Belthangady — assaulting Yathish during the early hours of Monday, police said.
Based on the complaint, Belthangady Police registered a case under sections 115(2), 103 and 3(5) of the BNS. The accused have been taken into custody and are being questioned. Further investigation is on.
