Mangaluru: Bellare police arrested three persons in connection with an alleged illegal cattle slaughter case at Mundatadka in Mantur, Savanoor village, Kadaba taluk.
Acting on a tip-off received on Friday evening, Bellare PSI Santosh BP and his team raided a plantation in Mundatadka. During the inspection, police found a animal being slaughtered and meat being processed at the site. They detained three individuals identified as K Abdul Rafiq, 37, Adram Mantur, 41, and Abdul Khader Panemajalu, 57.
During the inquiry, it was found that the accused had allegedly carried out cattle slaughter and meat processing without obtaining the necessary permissions. Police seized the meat and took the accused into custody.
A case has been registered at Bellare police station under Sections 4, 7 and 12 of Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act.
