Sivaganga: Two people, including a minor, were secured by the police in connection with the murder of a Class X boy in Sivaganga on Friday. Preliminary inquiry suggested the murder stemmed from a dispute over an alleged homosexual relationship between the two accused and the victim.
The accused were identified as
Aravind, 24, of Ilanthaimangalam and a 17-year-old boy. A senior police official told TOI that the deceased boy revealed the relationship to another person. Enraged over this, the duo hatched a murder plot.
“On the day of the incident, they consumed liquor and were involved in a sexual relationship before killing the boy; Preliminary autopsy confirmed injury in the anal area, confirming the sexual relationship,” said the official.
The body of the student was found with the throat slit near Keel Kaavanoor irrigation tank on Friday. This was after one of the boys narrated the incident to the police.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s father, police registered a case under BNS and
Pocso Act sections. Judicial process was under way to lodge the accused in judicial custody and send the minor to govt observation home.
