Cabinet clears land transfer for new Mohanlalganj sub-registrar office
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh cabinet approved the transfer of 953 square metres of land near the Mohanlalganj tehsil building to set up a revamped sub-registrar office for stamp and registration work. The decision follows a proposal from the district administration and the stamp and registration department to address severe space constraints at the existing facility.Currently, the Mohanlalganj sub-registrar office operates from within the tehsil premises and remains overcrowded throughout the day. Officials said the pressure increased with rising real estate activity, leading to a higher daily volume of deeds and transactions.Apart from land sale and purchase documents, the office also handles registration of agreements and contracts, gift deeds, lease deeds, marriage registrations and power of attorney documents. The new site will allow construction of a larger public-facing facility, including a waiting hall, separate toilet blocks and a storeroom for safekeeping of physical records and stamp papers.
