Swami Avimukteshwaranand on visit to city

Kanpur: Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati received a warm welcome on his arrival in Kanpur on Monday.State secretary of minority wing Samajwadi Party (SP) Kawaljeet Singh Manu met him, paid formal respects, and sought his blessings.Manu voiced support for his call to recognise the cow as the nation’s mother and said that his stance was not directed against any govt or political party; rather, he was speaking up for the protection of Gau Mata. He claimed the broader community of saints was unhappy with the BJP.The seer has repeatedly advocated safeguarding the cow lineage and has urged the govt to take stronger, more effective measures. As part of a nationwide drive for official recognition of the cow as Gau Mata at the national level he reached Kanpur on Monday.
