Poll roll revision drive from June 30; Dharwad seeks public support
Dharwad: The special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Dharwad district will be carried out from June 30 to Oct 7, 2026, and cooperation from political parties and the public is essential for the smooth conduct of the exercise, said Dharwad deputy commissioner and district election officer Snehal R.
Addressing a press conference at the DC office here on Friday, she said the Election Commission of India has launched the Special Summary Revision-2026 of electoral rolls in the district, with Oct 1, 2026, fixed as the qualifying date.
Preparatory work, training and printing activities will be held from June 20 to 29. Booth-level officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits from June 30 to July 29. The draft electoral roll will be published on Aug 5.
Claims and objections can be filed from Aug 5 to Sept 4, while their disposal will be completed by Oct 3. The final electoral roll will be published on Oct 7, she said.
The district has 1,665 polling stations across seven assembly constituencies, with a total electorate of 16,22,294. This includes 8,05,624 men, 8,16,572 women and 98 third-gender voters. For the revision process, 1,665 BLOs and 230 BLO supervisors have been appointed.
Snehal R said recognised political parties have been asked to appoint booth-level agents (BLAs) and submit Form BLA-2 to the electoral registration officers concerned. Parties that are yet to appoint BLAs have been urged to do so immediately.
To assist voters, voter facilitation centres (VFCs) and special camps have been set up across the district. A total of 452 centres have been opened for the 1,665 polling stations. Technical support will be provided to BLOs for uploading applications and required documents submitted by voters.
District manager of Devaraj Urs Corporation Kushal Chougala has been appointed district-level nodal officer for MCMC, while KNNL chief administrative officer SN Rudresh will supervise the overall revision process.
Additional deputy commissioner Geeta CD was present.
