Man, son killed as mine truck hits bike in Sandur

Ballari: A man and his son were killed after a mine truck collided with their motorcycle on the Nandihalli Road in Sandur taluk on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Belli Nagaraj, 45, and his son Durgesh, 18. According to police, the two were travelling on a motorcycle from Sandur towards Nandihalli when the accident occurred. The mine truck allegedly hit the motorcycle, leaving both riders grievously injured. They died on the spot. The residents alleged that the accident was caused by the truck driver’s negligent and rash driving. Sandur police took the truck driver into custody. A case was registered at the Sandur police station, and further investigation is under way.
