Fishing body suspects foul play in trawler owner’s death
Vasco: A Vasco-based fishing association has suspected foul play into the death of a trawler owner, whose body was recovered from Zuari rivulet near Cortalim ferry on Sunday.President of Goa Fishing Boat Owners Association (GBOA) Jose Philip D’Souza said trawler owner Manjunath Harikant, 65, a native of Karnataka, allegedly died under suspicious circumstances.“Harikant’s body was found floating in the Zuari rivulet. He had ventured into the sea with his two crew members. However, on return, the trawler was found abandoned, while the fishing nets were missing onboard the trawler,” D’Souza said.He demanded thorough investigation in Harikant’s death. Verna police is investigating the case.
