Rain, thunderstorms likely over next 3 days
Chandigarh: The city is set to witness another spell of wet weather, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting partly cloudy skies, thunderstorms, dust storms and light rain over the next three days starting Tuesday.
The changing weather conditions are likely to bring down temperatures and provide some relief from the heat.
On Monday, Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 22.8°C at the city observatory — both around 3°C below normal. However, high humidity levels of 83% during the day added a sticky feel to the weather.
As per the five-day forecast, partly cloudy skies with thunder, lightning and light rain are expected from June 2 to 4, with daytime temperatures hovering between 37°C and 38°C. The maximum is likely to dip to around 35°C on June 5, offering further relief, before rising slightly again to 37°C on June 6.
Though the city remained dry on Monday, the forecast points to unstable pre-monsoon conditions that could trigger brief spells of rain and thunderstorms in the coming days.
