Picture yourself skiing in New Zealand on a fine winter’s day—breathtaking scenery whizzes by as you streak down a mountain of fresh virgin snow—nothing can be more captivating. Ski season in New Zealand runs from June to October, and the country has developed a deserved reputation as an international skiing destination. It is one of the most beautiful times to visit, with the landscape covered by a blanket of white snows and scenery that is out of this world. If you’re heading to the slopes, there’s not much preparation required. Ski gear is readily available on hire, and even despite being inundated with skiers from around the world, the queues are comparatively short, since New Zealand’s ski fields are uncrowded and varied. Dotted with plenty of wide-open bowls and gentle slopes for first-timers, and more challenging ones for veterans, you’ll have no difficulty in finding the perfect take-off point.
