Gilberto Penzo is much more than just a shop一it is arguably the biggest Venetian maritime attraction after the Arsenale and the Naval History Museum. At Gilberto Penzo, you can see a number of small scale models of vessels used for decorative purposes (and sailing in bathtubs!) that date back back to the ancient Greek times and make their journey down to the modern day.
However, what really makes Gilberto Penzo such a popular attraction is that you can even purchase a kit to create your very own vessel. Just name the boat you would like to include in your collection and it will pop-up in a matter of minutes. The price depends on the type and model you choose but is normally between 20 and 70 EUR, and detailed instructions for assembling the vessel are included.
