Rancheros is very much like a McDonald’s serving Mexican food and is perhaps one of the most popular chain restaurants in Prague. You can feast on the quintessential burritos, tacos, nachos and quesadillas for a very small price and then go back for seconds because unlike other fast food giants, everything here tastes wonderful. Their chocolate nachos and quesadillas stuffed with cottage cheese are innovative and delicious. There are a multitude of options for vegetarians, and healthy fruit and yogurt-based desserts and beverages form a major part of the menu. Basic coffee and beer is also available. My personal favourite was the chicken quesadilla which was a perfect blend of molten cheddar cheese, vegetables and shredded chicken. The serving was generous and came with a bowl of tangy salsa. The food served here is colourful, moderately spicy and packed with a lot of flavours. Good things often come in small and simple packages and this place is proof of that fact. A casual take-away dinner from one of the many Rancheros outlets is therefore a must.
What to eat: Chicken quesadillas and sweet banana quesadillas.
