Eastside Cafe
Cozy old house serving herbs and vegetables grown on-site
Popular plate: For anyone who loves sweet-savory combos, the baked brie with apple chutney is hard to beat. Chopped almonds and pecans adds crunch and a nutty finish.

It's usually hard to get excited about a salad, but Eastside Cafe's Thai chicken salad doesn't play fair. The ingredients are as fresh as they come: the romaine lettuce, carrots, and cilantro are grown in a garden behind the restaurant, and the chicken comes from a nearby farm.
While much of the menu changes according to the growing season, a few old standbys, such as the delectable rosemary-skewered pork tenderloin, are always available.

The restaurant's popularity means you may have to wait up to an hour for a table on weekends, but it's easy to while away the time strolling through the garden, shopping at the Pitchforks & Tablespoons gift shop, or watching hens frolic.
