Torchy's Tacos
Fat tacos with funny names and fanatical fans
Noteworthy for: Torchy's overstuffed creations bring complexity and subtlety to the staid meat-and-cheese world of the soft taco.

The dirty Sanchez taco may not sound appetizing, but the blend of scrambled eggs, spicy pickled carrots, and guacamole will leave you begging for more. It's served with a creamy ranch-poblano sauce that sometimes causes spontaneous happy-dancing. The more conventionally named green chile pork taco is no less exciting, with queso fresco, cilantro, and onions piled on top of slow-roasted pork chunks.
The dining room at Torchy's seats about 15 people, and the line at the counter often extends into the seating area. These tacos are worth the inconvenience of cramped quarters, but you might want to order your meal to go.
