East Atlanta Village is often compared to an early Greenwich Village in New York, occupied by hipsters, artists, and the low-budget cultured set. Its mainstay is The Earl, its neighborhood music venue and pub-grub spot, which hosts diverse local and mainstream acts for Atlantans looking for a fun, laid-back scene and delicious sweet potato fries.
The neighborhood has good food (Holy Taco, for one, as well as Zesto for ice cream), quirky, indie boutique shopping, and quaint residential streets with historic homes all around. And it's just one mile south of Little Five Points, should you want to keep exploring the alternative side of Atlanta.
