Yet another stunning destination near Madurai, reaching here will take you almost 6 hours. A municipality in the Nilgiris district, this is smaller and quieter than Ooty, and could be just what you need for a holiday. Tea plantations, heritage hotels, and marvellous views of the mountains, this is a different world altogether. You should head to the Sim’s Park that was established way back in 1874 and is home to more than 1000 plant species, if you are at all interested in plants. You can find trees such as magnolia, tree ferns, and more. The Highfield Tea Estate is a 50 year old estate, and it is some 2 km northeast of upper Coonoor. You could also pack a picnic and head to Lamb’s Rock that is lush and also provides some beautiful views.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
