Barcelona has no shortage of major art galleries, including the Picasso Museum, the Joan Miró museum and the Dalí Museum (just outside town). But the smaller galleries offer a quieter, more off-the-beaten-path experience. Pop in to one of the following:
Galeria Brok: One of the best galleries in the city, displaying ancient art and paintings, and selling antique furniture from Spain and the rest of Europe.
Galeria d'Art Manuel Barbié: Gallery in the L'Eixample neighbourhood specialising in ancient art. Exhibits include paintings, sculptures, drawings and archaeological artifacts.
Centre Cultural Fundació La Caixa: Unusual, modernist building housing paintings, sculptures, ceramics and photographs by national and international artists.
