The (other) house that Gaudí built

Talk of the town: The mansion was used as a backdrop in the film 'The Passenger', when Jack Nicholson meets Maria Schneider.
Antoni Gaudí had a long relationship with industrialist Eusebi Güell, creating a famous Barcelona park in his name among other projects, but his private mansion was the architect's first big project. Palau Güell has since become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Catalan Art Nouveau mansion in the historic Raval neighbourhood is less ornate than Gaudí's later work, but still embodies his characteristic eccentric style. A particularly cool feature are the small windows hidden in the elaborately decorated ceiling that allowed the Güell family to check out the guests before greeting them, just in case a change of clothes was needed.
