Acid attack survivor children to get compensation, police to recreate crime scene

Barwani: Two children, who sustained severe burns while sleeping after their father allegedly attacked their mother with acid suspecting of infidelity in Barwani district, would get compensation and rehabilitation assistance. Nimar range deputy inspector general siddharth Bahuguna told TOI that instructions were issued to ensure compensation and medical treatment for the four-year-old girl and six-year-old boy. Barwani superintendent of police Padma Vilochan Shukla told TOI, “A proposal for compensation is being sent to the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) for approval.” Under the proposal, each child would receive financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh as acid attack survivors. Also, they will get a monthly assistance of Rs 4000 each, Shukla said. He said the police would recreate the crime scene to gather further evidence.
