Joe Rogan has shared his doubts about the UFC’s planned outdoor event at the White House, even though he is still expected to be part of the commentary team. The longtime UFC voice recently discussed the topic on his podcast and questioned whether hosting championship fights outside is the best idea. The event, officially called UFC Freedom 250, is scheduled to take place on June 14 on the South Lawn in Washington, D.C., and is already being promoted as one of the most unique cards in company history.Rogan’s biggest worries are related to the weather and overall fighting conditions. He explained that outdoor events can create problems that fighters normally do not face inside an arena. The popular commentator mentioned that temperatures around the same time last year reportedly reached nearly 100 degrees in Washington. He also pointed out that strong lighting systems could attract insects during the fights. Despite his criticism, Rogan is still expected to work the event, which will feature major title fights involving Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, Ciryl Gane, and Alex Pereira.

Joe Rogan questions outdoor conditions for UFC title fights at the White House

During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan made it clear that he is not fully comfortable with the idea of championship fights taking place outdoors.
The veteran commentator explained that he prefers high-level MMA bouts to happen in a controlled indoor setting where outside conditions cannot affect the fighters or the result of the contest.Rogan suggested that the extreme summer heat in Washington, D.C. could become a serious challenge for athletes competing at the highest level. He noted that temperatures during the same period last year were extremely high and said such weather could make the experience difficult for both fighters and fans. According to Rogan, dealing with intense heat during a five-round title fight is far from ideal. The UFC commentator also raised concerns about insects becoming a problem once the large lighting systems are turned on during the evening event. He explained that outdoor lighting often attracts bugs, which could distract fighters inside the cage. Rogan questioned how the organizers would prevent that issue from affecting the action. While discussing the topic, Rogan emphasized that world championship fights should happen in a fully managed environment with air conditioning and stable conditions. He believes outside elements such as humidity, wind, heat, or insects could unfairly influence the performance of fighters competing for titles.Even with his concerns, Rogan is still expected to commentate at UFC Freedom 250. The card is set to feature a lightweight title unification fight between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. Fans will also see an interim heavyweight title clash between Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira in what is expected to be one of the biggest UFC events of the year.
