Darcey Carter comes in for a chat and shares her thoughts on the pitch, saying it looks good and that 160 seems like a solid total on this wicket. Mentions that she aimed to bowl a bit quicker and is thrilled to have picked up a wicket with her very first delivery. She further highlights the quality of spinners in her team and adds that she always strives to give her best in the field.
Scotland Women were below par with the ball and leaked too many runs in the powerplay. The spinners pulled things back nicely and a few tidy overs at the backend helped them stem the flow of runs. All the bowlers except for Abtaha Maqsood snapped a wicket each to complete an all-around effort from the Scottish Women.
A solid batting performance from South Africa Women helps them post the highest score of this T20 World Cup. They finished on a formidable score of 166 for 5 in their 20 overs. Opting to bat first, the openers got them off to a brilliant start by adding 64 inside 8 overs. Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits were dismissed in their 40s but set a good platform for the others. Marizanne Kapp with 43 off 24 provided the impetus to the innings while Sune Luus stuck a few lusty blows to take her side past the 165-run mark.
