Heinrich Klaasen, the skipper of Seattle Orcas says he was looking to chase as well but it doesn't matter now. Adds that the surface will be on a slower side and batting second gives an advantage on such tracks. Informs that they are going with the same team.
Steven Smith, the skipper of Washington Freedom after winning the toss informs they are going to bowl first. Adds the side has been consistent with good scores so they are up for it. Mentions that it is his first time here, and it's been good fun throughout and the boys are up and ready to go. Washington Freedom, on the other hand, is the only team yet to be beaten so far. The side won their opening game on DLS while the other game got abandoned where they looked all set to chase down 203 with the side at 63 for no loss after 4 overs. The opening pair of Travis Head and Steven Smith is a scary sight for any bowling unit and they have got players like Andries Gous and Glenn Maxwell to follow them. The side has a solid base of the Australian batters well jelled with a mixed bag in the bowling unit. The bowling unit is led by the sensation from the recently concluded T20 World Cup, Saurabh Netravalkar. They have got Akeal Hosein, Marco Jansen and Lockie Ferguson as well but those three are yet to put their hands up and showcase their skills. Seattle Orcas despite having the same number of points as the third-placed MI New York sits rock bottom on the table due to a hefty negative NRR. The finalists from the last edition lost their season opener against the defending champions but bounced back well and won a close contest against the Los Angeles Knight Riders in the following game. Seattle Orcas has got a few of the most destructive batters of recent times in Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, Ryan Rickelton in their ranks and to follow it up they have got the services of Nandre Burger, Zaman Khan and Imad Wasim with the ball. The side looks well-balanced and one that can win games from any given situation.
