... DAY 5, SESSION 2 ...
The Hosts started the day brilliantly and had the perfect first hour. Pink ball specialist, Mitchell Starc grabbed the wicket of Ollie Pope and sent him back early in the session. Nathan Lyon bagged the prized scalp of Ben Stokes, after reviewing the LBW decision. Since then, they have not managed to get any wicket. Nathan Lyon has missed his lengths on several occasions, going shorter most of the times, and has not got the desired result, but however, he has been able to extract a lot of turn. Just before the end of the first session, we saw Marnus Labuschagne roll his arm over, and bowled a beauty of an over. They will have the new ball in the second session and the seamers will look forward to wrapping it up in the session itself. Join us at 5.10 pm local (0710 GMT) for the middle session.
After losing Ollie Pope early, Ben Stokes showed some resilience and looked pretty conservative with the bat, but eventually fell to Nathan Lyon. Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes have done well and have steadied the ship after that. England will be hoping this partnership to carry on till the end of the day, and if it does, then boy will that be a miracle here. Still, a mountain to climb here for the visitors. They will try to come out and do exactly the same.
Session Summary - 30.4 overs, 60 runs, 2 wickets. A pretty dominating first session of Day 5 for Australia. However, the visitors are just 4 wickets away from facing another defeat in the series. Australia will look to wrap things up coming into the second session. Also, they will have a new ball, to bowl with coming into the second session.
