... THE RUN CHASE ...

With 119 runs target, it's an easy task for the Aussie batters to achieve it, but if the Preoteas' bowlers find a way to get early breakthroughs and get the top order batters, they might have some chance, because we have seen it all from the Aussies, the bowling attack, the fielding and also some strong knocks from the upper order batters, but the only thing we are unsure about is the middle order of this team. Yes, they contain good talent in the middle order as well, but they have not been tested yet in this edition of the Under-19 World Cup. There's not much to talk about South Africa's batting unit. Jorich van Schalkwyk and skipper Muhammad Bulbulia tried to put up a strong partnership after the fall of an early wicket, but the skipper lost his wicket after some overs and the trail of wicket start to fall. Paul James was the only batter who came in after the fall of the fourth wicket and showed his resilience and patience. He stayed till the very end to get some runs on board, scoring 34 runs, which is the highest from the camp. Except for these three mentioned batters, no other player has even crossed the double-digit mark, which summarizes the inning for them. 

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the Australians made their strategy unmistakably clear. They had the intent of attacking the opposition batters from the very first delivery. Lachmund set the tone by claiming the first wicket, and from there, the bowling unit relentlessly maintained pressure. The fielders played a crucial role, ensuring that easy singles were hard to come by, which only intensified the strain on the batters. Despite a few missed opportunities, the team didn’t look back with regret; instead. Every bowler made a significant contribution, Charles Lachmund led the charge with three wickets, while both William Byrom and Aryan Sharma secured two each. Kasey Barton and Hayden Schiller also made their mark, each claiming a wicket. 

The inning is yet another display of why Australia Under-19 are the defending champion! In their previous after a riveting performance where they bundled Sri Lanka for 58 and today they have bundled the Proteas for 118 runs. Charles Lachmund was phenomenal, and he was the best among all the bowlers with the figure of 7-0-29-3. 

Aryan Sharma to Paul James, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! This was on the cards. With just 1 wicket remaining, Paul James was bound to go after the spinner. Flighted around off, spinning away from the batter. Paul James goes down on a knee and goes for the slog sweep. Gets it edged of the outside and the ball skies over the keeper to his right. Alex Lee Young makes no mistake and takes a regulation catch to wrap the South Africa Under-19 innings. South Africa Under-19 have been bundled out for 118.
