How to lose weight before Diwali?

With Diwali approaching, a lot of us are working on losing some extra kilograms in time for the festivities. Luckily, with the appropriate exercises, reducing 5 kg may be fun and attainable. Here's a list of six easy workouts you can do to aid with weight loss. These exercises are not only effective but also convenient, and they fit well into your daily routine.

2/7

High-intensity interval training (HIIT)

Exercises like HIIT are ideal for burning calories rapidly. They are made up of brief, intense exercise spurts separated by brief rest periods. A typical HIIT program could include exercises like jumping jacks, burpees, and high knees. Studies show that HIIT can increase metabolism and hasten weight reduction more quickly than steady-state workouts. Aim for 20–30 minutes of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) every 3.4–5.5 times a week.

3/7

Bodyweight squats

A great lower-body workout that works your core is the squat. Assume a chair-like stance, bending at the knees and lowering the hips, while keeping your feet shoulder-width apart. Put some pressure on your heels to get back to your starting position. Squats may assist in increasing muscular mass, which raises your metabolism, according to research. Do three sets of 15 to 20 reps a day.

4/7

Walking lunges

Walking lunges are an excellent way to strengthen your glutes and legs. Push off your back foot and step forward with one leg before stepping forward with the second. Once both knees are bent at a nearly 90-degree angle, lower your hips. This exercise also improves balance and coordination. Perform ten to fifteen lunges per leg in three sets.

5/7

Plank variations

Planks are a great way to increase total calorie burn while also strengthening your core. Your body should be in a straight line as you begin in the forearm plank posture. For 30 to 60 seconds, maintain this posture. Try plank shoulder taps or side planks to spice things up. Three to four times a week, add planks into your program.

6/7

Jump rope

You may burn calories quickly by doing a basic but effective cardio activity like jumping rope. It works your whole body, strengthens your heart, and is almost portable. Every day, try to get in 10 to 15 minutes of jump rope training. As your fitness increases, you can gradually increase the time.

Mountain climbers

Exercises that work your entire body, such as mountain climbers, work your arms, legs, and core. Start in the plank posture and alternate between sprinting and pulling your knees close to your chest. This workout improves your coordination and agility in addition to burning calories. Perform three 30-second sets, three to four times a week.
