Tamil Nadu polls fallout: DMK to boycott INDIA bloc meet on June 8

DMK on Thursday announced that it will boycott the INDIA bloc meeting to be held in Delhi on June 8. The decision comes after Congress severed its ties with DMK following the assembly election debacle.Also Read: INDIA bloc cracks as Congress snaps 11-year-old DMK tiesDMK issued a statement saying that DMK will not participate in the meeting to give respect to the sentiments of its cadres. “DMK cadres were upset at Congress betraying DMK after the assemblyassembly election. To give respect to their sentiments, DMK will not participate in the INDIA bloc alliane meeting. In short, DMK will not participate in the meeting in which Congress participates,” DMK said. However, DMK will support other parties in the alliance when they raise issues affecting the welfare of the nation.Also Read: Winds of change in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu may steady NDA's ship in ParliamentEarlier, there were rumours that DMK might not be invited for the meeting, scheduled at Constitutional club in Delhi, since it was unsure whether DMK still continues in the INDIA bloc, but however, invitation was extended to DMK.
