3 years of ‘Bengal Tiger’: Let’s reminisce its glorious facts

There’s a reason ‘Bengal Tiger’ turned Sampath Nandi from an unknown into one of the most famous directors in Tollywood and had him receiving loud plaudits like an ace filmmaker. Cleverly conceived and impeccably crafted, the commercial entertainer gave four richly-drawn characters - an unemployed simpleton living (Ravi Teja), who desires to become instant famous, an agricultural minister Samba (Sayaji Shinde), home minister’s daughter Shraddha (Raashi Khanna) and Chief Minister’s daughter (Tamannaah) and one of all-time great ending.

As the Ravi Teja starrer has been completed three years of its release, let’s get nostalgic and reminisce its glorious facts.

2/6

Ravi Teja’s performance

‘Bengal Tiger’ has Ravi Teja in the lead role. This is the story of a happy-go-lucky guy Akash Narayan who lives in a village and wants to become a famous celebrity. For this to happen, he hurts a political leader in a meeting and joins as an employee in his crew. Not only that, he starts loving Chief Minster’s daughter Meera. The reason is revealed in the second half that his father has been murdered by the same politicians and he comes to the place to seek revenge against them. Story-wise, it’s not new but the stellar performance of Mass Maha Raja Ravi Teja stood out in audience’s mind as the most exciting performances of his career.

3/6

Bheems Ceciroleo’s music

Music director Bheems Ceciroleo had been roped in to do music for this film. The music composer, who has previously composed music for films like ‘Nuvva Nena’, ‘Kevvu Keka’, ‘Galipatam’, ‘Joru’, ‘Ala Ela’ and ‘Mana Kurraalle’, delivered top-notch tunes for each track in the film. There are five songs in the film which were all super hits. Interestingly, Sampath Nandi had written the song, ‘Aasia’ in the film. Rest of the songs have been penned by Ramajogayya Sastry, Sri Mani, Bhaskarabhatla, Dev Pawar and Suddala Ashok Teja. The song, ‘Chupulato’ stood out from all the rest.

4/6

Sampath Nandi's direction

Director Sampath Nandi goes for the best. Soundararajan, who had earlier wielded the camera for films such as ‘Billa’, ‘Anaganaga O Dheerudu’, joined the team of ‘Bengal Tiger’. Sampath, known for helming in critically acclaimed films including ‘Yemaindi Ee Vela’ and ‘Racha’, had directed this film with a great passion. Director Sampath Nandi’s ‘Bengal Tiger’ is the definition of what can be termed as thunderstorm commercial entertainer. As there is a make-believe happening of something big in store, everything sizzles out in the end and what we get is a highly unpredictable commercial action entertainer.

5/6

Raashi Khanna-Tamannaah's glamour

Beautiful divas Raashi Khanna and Tamannaah Bhatia were the leading ladies in the movie. Both have good and enough roles in the movie and they did their parts appropriately. They are perfect for expressions though. Compare to Raashi, Tamannaah has much scope for her on-screen presence. Her pair with Ravi Teja is superb. Needless to say, she has a role that has an impact and score to perform.

6/6

Hilarious Comedy

Apart from them, there are other memorable characters in the film despite the presence of a few noticeable actors. The film also features Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna Murali and Prudhviraj in comedic roles. They are all hilarious in the most parts they got. Especially, Prudhviraj as ‘Future Star’ Siddappa takes care of the role. The way they handled the comedy is fantastic. ‘Bengal Tiger’ was backed by KK Radha Mohan under the banner of Sri Satya Sai Arts.
